When summer is just around the corner, it’s not long until the next beach holiday too! But as well as having a nice bikini or swimsuit, it’s just as important to get the basics right to wear over the top.
Floaty beach dresses for plus-size women
Loose-fitting clothes are particularly comfortable in hot weather. You can throw them on quickly if it gets a little cooler and take them off again just as quickly when you want to take a dip in the water to cool off. They come in various styles and colors, with a range of different sleeve options, so you’re sure to find the right beach dress for your figure.
Floaty beach dresses are particularly good for plus-size women, as they swirl around your curves and give you a feminine silhouette.
Many beach dresses even look so fantastic that you can easily keep them on for a dressy dinner in the evening.
If you’re not a fan of dresses, you can go for loose viscose or linen pants with a wide leg. Not only do they give the illusion of long legs, but they are also very comfortable and feel nice against your skin. The heat and sweating that come with summer mean that many plus-size women have to deal with their thighs rubbing against each other, leaving them with sore, chafed skin. Lightweight summer pants solve this problem.
If you prefer to show your upper body off in a nice bikini top or don’t really like showing your legs, you can also wear long cloth pants in summer. Light, wide-leg pants featuring summery prints like paisley, ethnic patterns or floral prints are particularly popular. They are perfect paired with a loose T-shirt or a floaty tunic.
It can get windy quickly on the beach. And it often cools down a lot in the evening. If you want to be able to enjoy the sunset on the beach without freezing, plan ahead and take a light jacket to throw on.
Linen jackets, long, floaty blouses and soft cardigans are all perfect for the beach, for example. They will go well with your beach dress or cloth pants. Just take care not to mix very bold patterns. If you’re already wearing a patterned dress, it’s best to keep your jacket plain. If your outfit is more simple, however, you can really turn heads by wearing a jacket with a dramatic pattern.
